Peeling

We believe in the philosophy that we will never see the same skin twice. Each of our facial treatments reflect this philosophy by having elements of structure while remaining infinitely customizable to suit your individual needs during the time of service.

A chemical peel is a skin treatment that involves applying a solution to the face to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new cells. This process aims to improve the appearance of the skin by reducing age spots and evening out skin tone.

There are three main types of chemical peels: superficial, medium, and deep:

  • Superficial peels remove skin cells from the top layer of the skin (epidermis). The solution is applied to the skin and left on for a few minutes. Afterward, your skin may feel tight for a couple of hours. Regular treatment is needed to maintain the effects.
  • Medium peels remove skin cells from the top and middle layers of the skin. The solution is applied and left on for a few minutes, during which you may feel burning or stinging. Your skin may appear brown or red for a few days afterward, and it can take up to 6 weeks for your skin to return to normal. Treatment is needed every 6 to 12 months to maintain the effects.
  • Deep peels affect the deeper layers of the skin. A local anesthetic and sedative may be needed to numb any pain. The solution is applied to the face and can be left on for 30 minutes or more. Your heart and blood pressure need to be monitored because the chemical used (phenol) can affect your heart and kidneys. Deep peels often lighten the skin, so they’re not suitable for darker skin tones. However, they have long-lasting effects and usually do not need to be repeated.

Chemical peels offer a range of benefits for various skin issues:

  • Acne:

Chemical peels can help by breaking down comedones, reducing oil production, killing bacteria, and decreasing inflammation. They can also increase the absorption of topical treatments. Light to medium peels are usually used for acne treatment.

  • Acne Scars:

Chemical peels can improve acne scars by exfoliating the top skin layer, removing excess collagen. Medium chemical peels are often recommended for acne scars.

  • Rosacea:

For mild or moderate rosacea, chemical peels may help relieve symptoms by reducing redness, swelling, and red bumps.

  • Aging Skin:

Chemical peels can reduce signs of aging such as wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, uneven skin tone, roughness, dryness, and liver spots. They trigger the production of collagen and elastin, making the skin supple and strong, and the new skin is smoother, reducing roughness and dryness.

  • Hyperpigmentation:

Chemical peels can improve uneven skin tone, melasma, freckles, surgical scars, scars due to injury, and discoloration due to sun damage.

  • Dullness:

Chemical peels can help brighten a dull complexion by allowing new skin to resurface, giving it a brighter and healthier appearance.

  • Precancerous Growth:

Chemical peels can treat actinic keratoses, rough skin patches caused by sun exposure, which are considered precancerous growths.
